Internal Medicine Doctor – Village Physicians Staff

Choosing a new internal medicine doctor can be a challenge, especially if you have moved to a new community. Asking for recommendations for an internal medicine doctor from coworkers, neighbors, and friends is a good way to start, but ultimately you will have to decide which internal medicine doctor is best suited to your personality, individual needs and situation.

A internal medicine doctor is referred to as an internist. Like a family doctor or PCP, an internist treats a wide variety of conditions that commonly occur in adults. Internists can treat minor issues like a sinus infection or a sprained wrist. However, if you have more complicated issues, such as difficult to control diabetes or labile blood pressure and internist is still the first line of treatment. Internists are also trained in managing the treatment recommendations of multiple sub-specialists. If you are an adult looking for a new internal medicine doctor, consider making an appointment with your closest internist first.
